No Sewing, No Stress — Just Pure Easter Fun!

Got a pile of lonely, unmatched socks hiding in your laundry basket? Before you toss them, turn them into the cutest Easter bunnies ever — all in under 5 minutes and no sewing required!

This craft is easy enough for kids, fun for teens, and even relaxing for adults or seniors. Whether you’re making a gift, decorating your home, or selling at a craft fair, these sock bunnies are a total win.

What You’ll Need:

  • Unmatched sock (any color or pattern)
  • About 1 cup of uncooked rice
  • 2-3 rubber bands
  • Black Sharpie or permanent marker
  • Scissors
  • Ribbon or twine (optional, for the bow)
  • A glass or cup (to help fill the sock easily)

How to Make a No-Sew Sock Bunny:

Step 1: Fill the Sock

Place your sock over the rim of a cup or tall glass. This makes pouring easier and less messy. Then fill it with about 1 cup of rice (adjust more or less depending on the size of your sock).

Step 2: Tie the Top

Once your sock is filled, secure the top with a rubber band or rope to keep the rice inside.

Step 3: Shape the Body

Use another rubber band to section off the top third of the sock — this creates the bunny’s head and body.

Step 4: Make the Ears

Cut off any extra sock above the head, leaving a few inches for the ears. Then cut the top portion down the middle. You can draw bunny ear shapes with a marker and trim them for a cleaner look. Want floppy ears? Leave them a bit longer and don’t worry about precision.

Step 5: Draw the Face

Using a black marker, draw:

Two little dots for the eyes

A small “X” shape for the nose

You can get creative here or even glue on googly eyes and use a pom-pom for the nose.

Step 6: Dress It Up
(Optional but adorable!) Tie a ribbon or piece of twine around your bunny’s neck to give it a charming bow.

Tips & Ideas:

Use kids’ socks for mini bunnies.

Mix and match sock colors and patterns for a whole bunny family.

For black or dark socks, use white paint or fabric markers.

Want to sell them? Use new socks and make them in festive sets.

Add googly eyes, pom-pom noses, or pipe cleaner whiskers for extra flair.

Senior center activities
