Hello, fellow parents and teachers! With the arrival of autumn, I’m so excited to dive into all the fun apple themed activities. Today, I have a super cute and educational craft that is perfect for helping little ones practice spelling their names in a creative and engaging way.
This Apple Name Craft turns a simple printable into a personalized piece of art featuring a cheerful little worm inching its way through a big, red apple. It’s a wonderful project for back to school, a fall unit, or just a fun afternoon at home.
Ready to get started? Let’s make something special!
What You’ll Need:
- Free Apple Name Craft Printable (I’ll share a Free Printables link for you to grab your own!)
- Scissors
- A glue stick
- A black marker
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Prepare Your Pieces

First things first, you’ll need to print out the free template. Once you have it, carefully cut out the large apple shape and all the small circles. You’ll notice one of the circles has a cute little smiley face that will be the head of your worm!
Step 2: Write Out the Name
This is where the personalization comes in! Take the plain circles and have your child write one letter of their name in the center of each circle. You’ll need enough circles to spell out their entire name.
Alternatively, you can download our free alphabet printables, cut out the letters, and then have your child choose the letters from their name. Afterward, you can ask them to color in those alphabets.
Step 3: Assemble Your Name Worm

Now it’s time to build your little name worm! On the large apple cutout, start by gluing down the circle with the smiley face at one end. Then, in the correct order, glue down each of the letter circles, creating a wiggly worm that spells out your child’s name across the apple.
Make sure to arrange the circles so they are touching, just like the segments of a real worm.
And that’s it! Your adorable and personalized Apple Name Craft is complete. It’s a fantastic way to practice name recognition and fine motor skills, all while creating a sweet piece of art to display proudly.
I hope you and your little ones have a wonderful time with this activity. Let me know how yours turns out
