How to Make Fake Snow for Outside

To make fake snow, take three cups of baking soda, add half a cup of white hair conditioner, mix this mixture well, and get artificial snow.

Snow is one of nature’s favorite arts. Seeing the beautiful white-colored flakes around the houses and backyards is a pleasure.

Whether a Christmas tree decoration or a Nerf battlefield game, snow always adds to the rich experience of being involved in fun activities with our family.

Three Different types of Fake Snow

If you also want to see snow when it is not outside, you may feel overwhelmed to discover that creating fake snow at home is straightforward and enjoying the beauty of actual snow.

1st Method: Tear A Baby Diaper To Get Sodium Polyacrylate

Fake snow made from sodium polyacrylate

In the first method, we will create a fake snow design with the help of some baby diapers. The phony snow made by this method is perfect for decorating purposes like a Christmas tree or a Nerf battleground.

However, we cannot call it the best for playing a snow fight. Follow the instructions and steps properly to obtain real snow at home.

Extracting sodium polyacrylate from baby diapers

In the very first step, we have to take some baby diapers of a standard size that are used on the kids.

Baby diapers contain a particular type of element called sodium polyacrylate, which can cause a lot of moisture to be observed in them.

We have to tear the entire diaper from the center and open it till we get the layer of sodium polyacrylate present in it.

When you reach the layer of cotton that contains sodium polyacrylate in the diaper, remove the entire substance with the help of a plastic scale.

Depending on the snow you wish to create, you can use 2-3 baby diapers to collect the sodium polyacrylate.

Add water to cotton type sodium polyacrylate

Add some water to the mixture of cotton and sodium polyacrylate that you have obtained from the diapers. Remember, you need not add a large amount of water but just a small amount to ensure the snow appears scattered and realistic.

2nd Method: Mix Baking Soda And Shaving Cream Together

Artificial Snow Made from Baking Soda and Shaving Cream

In the second method, we will obtain some fake snow by mixing baking soda and shaving cream in equal amounts.

You can use the snow created by this method for both decorating and playing purposes. Using this fake snow, you can play a snow fight or make a snowman very quickly.

Mix Baking Soda and Shaving Cream in a bowl

To create some fake snow with the help of baking soda and shaving cream, take one cup of each in equal amounts with the same cup and mix it all together in a bowl.

Mix both things properly in a glass container with the help of a spoon or a metal straw.

Add baking soda to thicken liquid consistency for perfect dry snow.

If the consistency is too thin or liquid, add baking soda again to ensure perfect dry snow.

Mix Baking Soda And Shaving Cream in a bowl thoroughly with your hands

Use your hand to give the entire thing a perfect mix. Use both hands to mince it together, like kneading the flour for the dough. You can add a small amount of water if the mixture is too flaky or dry.

3rd Method: Mix Baking Soda And Hair Conditioner

Make Artificial Snow With Baking Soda And Hair Conditioner

In the third method, we will create fake snow using baking soda and hair conditioner. This phony snow type is perfect for making a snowman or playing a snow fight with your friends. However, you can also use it to decorate your backyard or Christmas trees.

Mix three cups of baking soda with half a cup of hair conditioner

Mix three cups of baking soda well with half the same cup of hair conditioner to create fake snow.

Mix thoroughly with your hands

Mix both things with your hands properly. Mix until you get proper flaky snow, which is appropriate for playing.

If you want to check whether your fake snow is perfectly ready, you can hold it tightly in your hand and see if it binds together.

If the snow binds into a perfect ball and does not break up quickly, it is ideal for playing outside. Remember, you can always prefer adding a little water to your snow if you feel you are not getting the perfect texture.

Conclusion:

This blog discussed three ways to create fake snow at home easily. All the materials required for these methods are readily available in every house, and anyone can easily make snow using all three methods mentioned above.

To sum up, make the snow with the help of baby diapers if you wish to use it for decorative purposes. However, baking soda and shaving cream can create snow to play a snow fight. If you want to make a snowman from the fake slow, baking soda and conditioner would be the best choice to create snow.
