In this review, I’ll give you my honest opinions on the Trilogy DS-15 blaster, which is rather distinctive in a number of ways.
N-Strike Elite Trilogy DS-15: What Is It?
The N-Strike Elite series’ Trilogy DS-15 shotgun blaster was released in 2019. It launches darts using shells, as previously described, and each shell holds three darts. Fifteen Elite darts and five shells are included with the blaster.
Though the name might seem arbitrary, there is some science behind it. The letters DS, which stand for Dart Shell, and 15 denote its capacity to contain 15 darts. Its ability to fire three darts at once is evident from the word “trilogy.”
Why you should consider nerfing the DS-15 blaster from the N-Strike Elite Trilogy
1.) A Real Shotgun Nerf
Rare and infrequently released, Nerf shotguns are extremely uncommon. Although I do enjoy them, I can see why they might not be as well-liked.
A blaster that can shoot two or more darts or rounds simultaneously is what I would consider a Nerf shotgun. Certain blasters, like the Nerf Rival Takedown, may have a shotgun-like appearance, but they are imitations.
Because the N-Strike Elite Trilogy DS-15 can fire three Elite darts at once, it is actually a real Nerf shotgun. And for that reason, this blaster is fantastic. The main thing is to have fun, even when it’s not always useful.
2.) Exciting Fire Mechanism
It’s a really easy and enjoyable activity to prime the blaster, load a shell, fire, and release the spent shell.
To put it another way, the priming action sounds great and feels really solid. The blaster’s little door opens to let you load a shell after it has been primed.
It only takes a few simple steps to load a shell—just drop it into the opening. Once the priming handle is pushed, the mechanism will lock it into position.
When you’re ready, pull the trigger to shoot the three darts out of the barrel by pressing the trigger button.
The spent shell will shoot out the side of the blaster when you’re done and prepared to prime for the next round.
Hold the blaster horizontally and capture the shell if you don’t want it to fall to the ground.
Is this the most useful method of firing? Not at all, but it’s a lot of fun.
3.) Gorgeous Appearance
The Elite Trilogy DS-15 has a distinct appearance in addition to its unique functionality. With the large barrel at the front and the rounds stacked at the back, it has an uninviting appearance.
Together with the darker areas around the blaster’s base, the iconic orange and blue color scheme looks fantastic.
Last Words
A blaster in its niche is the Elite Trilogy DS-15. It is quite entertaining, but its unusual shell-firing technique might not be for everyone. And it’s the main thing that matters to me.
It’s true that In Nerf wars, shooting three darts at once won’t offer you an advantage. If anything, your supply of ammunition will run out far more quickly.
However, if you set it aside for a second and consider the DS-15’s general operation and enjoyment factor, I can only recommend this blaster.
