Craft Supplies

  • Printable Santa face template
  • Printable letter circle sheet
  • Scissors
  • Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
  • Glue stick

Instructions

Step 1: Color Santa’s hat, face, and fluffy white beard.

Kids can use classic red and white or get creative with other colors. Either way, the finished Santa looks cheerful and bright.

Step 2: Cut around the outside dashed line of the Santa template.

Little scissors work best for small hands here. Help younger children with any tricky curves along the beard.

Step 3: Find the letter circles needed to spell the child’s name.

Older kids can often search the alphabet sheet alone. Younger children may need a little extra guidance finding each letter.

Step 4: Color each letter circle a different bright color.

This makes the finished name stand out against Santa’s white beard. Encourage fun color combinations for extra holiday cheer.

Step 5: Cut out each letter circle carefully.

Take your time with this step for a clean, neat finish. Small circles can be tricky for little hands to trim.

Step 6: Glue the letter circles onto Santa’s beard to spell the name.

Space the letters evenly across the bottom of the beard. Let the glue dry fully before displaying the craft.

Why This Craft Is So Great For Kids

This activity builds much more than a fun holiday decoration. It supports real literacy and fine motor development.

Children practice recognizing and ordering the letters in their name. This builds spelling confidence in a relaxed, playful way.

Cutting around Santa’s face and the small letter circles strengthens scissor control. Gluing each letter in place also teaches patience and precision.

Best of all, kids feel proud seeing their name become part of Santa’s beard. That sense of ownership makes the activity feel personal and exciting.

Perfect For Classrooms And Home

This craft fits beautifully into many holiday settings. It works just as well at school as it does at home.

Teachers often use name crafts to decorate classroom doors and bulletin boards. Each Santa face becomes a bright, personalized holiday display.

Parents can turn this into a cozy weekend activity together. It also makes a lovely handmade gift for grandparents and family members.
