Free Printable Christmas Symmetry Drawing Worksheets

The holiday season is full of creativity, but it’s also a great time to sneak in some learning! If you are looking for an activity that calms the mind, sharpens focus, and teaches geometry concepts all at once, you have found it.

We are excited to share our collection of 7 Free Printable Christmas Symmetry Drawing Worksheets.

These A4 PDF templates feature a “Finish the Picture” style activity using a grid system. Half of the image is drawn for you, and the goal is to draw the missing half to create a perfect mirror image. It is the perfect blend of math, art, and holiday cheer!

Why Practice Symmetry?

Symmetry drawing is one of the best “brain building” activities for kids. Here is why educators love these worksheets:

  • Spatial Awareness: Kids have to count the grid squares to ensure their lines are in the exact right spot.
  • Math Concepts: It visually teaches the concepts of lines of symmetry, reflection, and geometry.
  • Attention to Detail: It requires focus to match the curves and straight lines of the original image.
  • Confidence: The grid provides “scaffolding” (help), allowing kids to draw complex characters they might not be able to draw freehand!

What’s Included in This Bundle?

We have created seven festive designs, ranging from simple shapes to detailed characters. Here is what your kids can draw:

1. The Candy Cane

A great starting point! This design features simple curves and stripes. It helps children practice drawing smooth, rounded lines to complete the bow and the hook.

2. The Reindeer

Rudolph is here with his festive lights! This is a fun challenge that requires kids to mirror the antlers and the string of lights tangled in them.

3. The Snowman

This frosty friend is made of geometric shapes circles for the body and a rectangle for the hat. It’s excellent for practicing shape recognition.

4. The Christmas Tree

O Christmas Tree! This worksheet involves drawing zig zag lines for the branches and circles for the ornaments. It’s a classic symmetry challenge.

5. Mrs. Claus

We can’t forget Santa’s better half! This adorable drawing features Mrs. Claus holding a tray of fresh baked cookies. It’s a bit more detailed, perfect for older kids.

6. The Elf

Santa’s helper is ready for work. Kids will have fun mirroring his pointy ears, his collar, and his curled shoes.

7. Santa Claus

The big man himself! This worksheet features Santa waving hello. Kids will need to count the squares carefully to make sure his beard and belt line up perfectly.

How to Use These Worksheets

Print: Download the PDF files below and print them on standard A4 paper.

Count & Draw: Show your child how to pick a starting point (like the top of Santa’s hat). Count how many grid squares the line covers on the left, and then draw that same line on the right.

Color: Once the pencil drawing is done, break out the crayons or markers! Since the drawing is complete, these double as coloring pages.

Teacher Tip: These are perfect for “early finishers” in the classroom or as a quiet morning work activity during the hectic week before Christmas break.

Merry Christmas and Happy Drawing!
