Free Martin Luther King Jr. "Find & Color" Activity Sheets

Teaching little ones about big concepts like peace, unity, and kindness can be tricky. Sometimes, the best way to start the conversation is through a simple, fun game.

We are excited to share our MLK Day “Find & Color” Activity Pack.

These 5 Free Printable A4 Worksheets are designed for preschoolers and kindergarteners. They use visual discrimination (finding the right picture) to help children identify positive behaviors and symbols associated with Dr. King’s dream.

What’s Inside This Activity Pack?

This bundle focuses on identification and coloring. Here is a breakdown of the five fun activities:

1. P is for Peace

Phonics meets history! In this worksheet, children identify pictures that start with the “P” sound (like Peace sign, Podium, Puppy, Pencil, and Pizza) and color them in. It features a cute cartoon of Dr. King standing next to the letter P.

2. Dr. King’s Dream Bubbles

“I Have A Dream.” This sheet helps children distinguish between fair and unfair. Kids must find and color the bubbles that match Dr. King’s vision for a better world (like diversity, recycling, and peace) while ignoring the negative ones (like pollution or “Whites Only” signs).

3. Find the Kindness Bubbles

Kindness is a choice. This worksheet shows various scenarios some kids are sharing and hugging, while others are fighting or being mean. The goal is to spot and color only the bubbles that show acts of kindness.

4. Peace Symbols Search

A classic “hunt and find” game. Children look through a mix of symbols (including a tank and a sword) to find only the ones that represent Peace (like the dove, the heart, the handshake, and the olive branch).

5. Find the Unity Bubbles

What does “Unity” look like? This sheet challenges kids to find images of togetherness people holding hands, broken chains, and diverse groups of friends while skipping the images of people standing alone or looking sad.

How to Use These Worksheets

Discussion Time: As your child points to a bubble (e.g., two kids fighting), ask them, “Is this kind or unkind? What would Dr. King say about this?”

Dot Markers: These circles are perfect for using Bingo Daubers or dot markers for a fun, mess-free way to “mark” the correct answers.

Cut & Paste: Have older kids cut out the “correct” bubbles and paste them onto a separate sheet of paper to create a “World of Peace” collage.

Parent Tip: These sheets are a great quiet-time activity while you listen to Martin Luther King Jr.’s speeches or watch educational videos together.

Happy Learning!
