We are sharing 7 Free Printable Christmas Symmetry Drawing Worksheets.

These “Finish the Picture” activities are fantastic for developing spatial awareness. Using the grid as a guide, children have to count the squares and mirror the image to complete the Christmas decoration. It’s where Math meets Art!

Why Symmetry Drawing is a Great Skill

Before we get to the fun part, here is why these worksheets are teacher-approved:

  • Geometry Basics: It introduces the concept of a “line of symmetry” (reflection).
  • Visual Perception: Kids have to observe closely to match the curves and angles.
  • Pencil Control: Counting grid squares and drawing precise lines helps improve handwriting skills.

What’s Included in This Ornament Collection?

We have created seven unique designs on A4 paper that focus on Christmas decorations and characters. From simple shapes to intricate patterns, there is a challenge level for everyone.

1. The Geometric Snowflake

No two snowflakes are alike, but they are all symmetrical! This design features sharp, angular lines that are perfect for practicing straight edge drawing.

2. The North Star

A classic 5 point star with a geometric center. This is a great introduction to symmetry for younger children as it uses bold, straight lines.

3. The Ornate Tree Topper

This isn’t just any star it’s a fancy one! Featuring swirls, gems, and a spiral base, this worksheet challenges kids to replicate detailed curves and intricate patterns.

4. The Snowflake Bauble

A beautiful round Christmas ornament featuring a snowflake design in the center. Kids will need to focus to get the circle shape just right!

5. The Swirly Bauble

This elegant ornament features flowing, curved lines. It is an excellent exercise for “flow” and hand eye coordination to get those swirls to match perfectly.

6. Santa Claus

It wouldn’t be Christmas without St. Nick! This worksheet features a classic Santa face. Children will love completing his beard, hat, and friendly wave.

7. The Ball Ornament

This printable worksheet challenges children to complete a swirly Christmas ornament using grid symmetry. They draw the missing half to match the detailed design.

How to Use These Worksheets

Print: Download the PDF files below and print them on standard A4 paper.

The Grid Method: Teach your child to use the grid squares. If a line goes across two squares on the left, it must go across two squares on the right!

Draw: Using a pencil (and an eraser, just in case!), draw the missing half of the image.

Color: Once the drawing is complete, these double as coloring pages!

Teacher Tip: These are perfect for “Morning Work” packets during December or as a calming activity after recess.

Merry Christmas and Happy Drawing!
