Counting to twenty Valentine's Day Math Worksheets

Learning to count is even sweeter when hearts are involved! If you are looking for a simple, effective way to help your preschooler or kindergartener master numbers 1-20, you are going to love this freebie.

We are sharing our Valentine’s Day “Count & Trace” Number Pack.

This set of 10 Free Printable A4 Worksheets is designed to reinforce number formation, counting skills, and one-to-one correspondence. Each page features two numbers (e.g., 1 and 11), making it easy to compare single digits with their teen counterparts.

What makes these worksheets special?

We have combined three essential skills into one activity:

Number Recognition: Big, bold numbers filled with tiny hearts for kids to color.

Counting Practice: A large heart next to each number acts as a “drawing space.” Kids can draw the correct number of items (like stickers or dots) inside.

Handwriting: Dotted lines at the bottom allow kids to trace the numbers multiple times to build muscle memory.

    What’s Inside the Bundle?

We have covered every number from 1 to 20 across 10 pages. Each page pairs a single-digit number with a teen number (except for 10 and 20).

    How to Use These Worksheets

    1. Color the Big Number

Start by letting your child color the large numbers at the top. The tiny hearts inside encourage precision coloring (staying inside the lines!).

    2. Fill the Heart

Look at the big empty heart next to the number.

    • Task: “Can you draw 5 circles in this heart?”
    • Alternative: Use heart stickers, buttons, or fingerprints dipped in paint to fill the heart with the correct number of items.

    3. Trace the Line

At the bottom of each section, have your child trace the dotted numbers.

    • Tip: Encourage them to start at the top of the number and follow the arrows (if they need guidance).

Teacher Tip: Laminate these sheets and use them with dry-erase markers and playdough! Kids can form the numbers out of dough and place them on the big digits.

    Happy Counting! ❤️
