Craft a Vampire Candy Holder for Halloween

Looking for a spooktacular and adorable way to hand out treats this Halloween? Forget plain candy wrappers and create these charming vampire candy “huggers”! They’re a fun paper craft that turns a simple chocolate bar into a memorable gift.

Perfect for classroom parties, trick-or-treaters, or as festive party favors, these little Draculas are surprisingly easy to make. Let’s get crafting!

What You’ll Need:

  • Black cardstock or construction paper
  • Red and white paper scraps
  • A pair of googly eyes
  • Scissors
  • A glue stick
  • A pencil and ruler
  • A white gel pen or chalk marker
  • A short piece of red yarn or string
  • A long, thin candy bar (like a Kinder Riegel)

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Create the Vampire’s Cape

First, you’ll need to cut out your main vampire shape from the black paper. You can do this by drawing and cutting out a bat like silhouette with a defined head, two large wings, and two small feet at the bottom.

For a perfectly symmetrical shape, fold your black paper in half, draw one half of the design against the fold, and cut it out.

Step 2: Add the Classic Collar and Face

Every dapper vampire needs his signature collar and crisp white shirt! Cut a curved, pointed collar shape from the red paper and glue it at the top of the black silhouette, just under the head.

Then, cut a small white heart and glue it in the center of the head, with the point facing down. This creates the illusion of a widow’s peak hairline and a white shirt front.

Step 3: Prepare the Folds

Place your candy bar in the center of the vampire to see where the folds should go. Using a pencil and ruler, draw two straight vertical lines down the middle of the wings, one on each side of where the candy bar will sit. These lines will be your folding guides.

Now for the fun part! Stick on two googly eyes onto the white heart “face.” Your vampire character is starting to take shape!

Step 4: Write a Secret Spooky Message

Before you add the candy, open up the wings and use your white gel pen to write a fun message. Something like “Are you hungry?” or “I vant to give you candy!” works perfectly. You can also add little doodles like spiders, webs, or stars for extra flair.

Step 6: Add the Candy and Tie It Up

Place your candy bar vertically in the center of the vampire, between the two fold lines you drew. Carefully fold the two wings inward so they wrap snugly around the candy bar, like a cape.

To keep your vampire’s cape closed, take your piece of red yarn and tie it around the wrapped wings in a neat bow.

Voilà! Your fang-tastic vampire candy holder is complete and ready to delight some lucky trick or treater. Happy Halloween crafting.
